Fresh off the heels of a week of decadence @ San Diegos IVY..."Thanks Este" and SLIDE in SF.. two appearances this week at Ambassador. Wed and Sat. If'n you are nice enough to comment i may list you.

On Friday this week I'll be at the IVY hotel in SD. Its one of the nicest hotels i've stayed at in the US. There's a dope club downstairs but i'll be Djing on the rooftop all night!! Saturday back to SF for SLIDE.

Slimi Hendrix?

I've been thinking about doing a Hendrix vs Hip Hop mashup album lately but cant decide on a particular artist. Im leaning towards Eminem because hes got a bunch of material and i could call it the Slimi Mathers Experience or something like that. I'm open to suggestions so please leave some in the comments. Frankly im a bit concerned that nobody seem to like to comment....

Its one of my favorite places to Dj in San Francisco because the owners are very supportive of creative playlists. This Saturday night I'll be Djing @ Slide. Back in the Prohibition Era of San Francisco, 430 Mason Street was a space called the Cable Car Theater. Below the theater was a restaurant called Cafe Dans. In actuality, cafe Dans was not a restaurant, but a speakeasy that could be accessed only by a savvy few that would push a secret wall, leading you to a playground slide. This slide would take you below the street level where one could indulge in illicit gambling and the drinking of bootleg whiskey and spirits. In an era of secret codes and handshakes, the speakeasy was a hidden subculture of nightlife. Old world San Francisco elegance has been reborn. Slide is modern and sophisticated but is also reminiscent of the age of gangsters, flappers and bootleg revelry of years past.
