Well, I'd blame it on the 90's parties I've got coming up but instead I'll admit this song verbatim. I may have a slight problem with my addiction to all things cheesy that'll I'll need to address lest my fam and friends have me sent to retro rehab. Here for your pleasure or possible pain is an intro refix i did of the fresh prince of bel air tv theme. Download at the link below and come check out I Got the Power this Sat and 1994 next Sat.

Join the MLNP VIP About Slide: Back in the Prohibition Era of San Francisco, 430 Mason Street was a space called the Cable Car Theater. Below the theater was a restaurant called Cafe Dans. In actuality, cafe Dans was not a restaurant, but a speakeasy that could be accessed only by a savvy few that would push a secret wall, leading you to a playground slide. This slide would take you below the street level where one could indulge in illicit gambling and the drinking of bootleg whiskey and spirits. In an era of secret codes and handshakes, the speakeasy was a hidden subculture of nightlife. Old world San Francisco elegance has been reborn. Slide is modern and sophisticated but is also reminiscent of the age of gangsters, flappers and bootleg revelry of years past.

OK so i was a raver in the 90's so expect to hear some early house anthems but i love the super cheesy 90's pop even more now as a guilty pleasure being that i didn't get it the first time around.

MANIC MONDAYS is always cracking when we have the diverse and some would say perverse DJ Solarz on the set. This guy will drop tracks you though you'd never see a dance floor rock out to and chick end up dancing out of their shoes... i actually found a shoe once and part of some girls weave on another occasion that im convinced he made them dance out of. Resident and host Dj Mei-Lwun will be doing the residenting and hosting ;) Drink special on Fernet and Corralejos and special drinks by Keahi. Last but not least there is no cover as long as you are nice to big BOON at the door.. also try and look pretty for him and adhere to the dress code.
Matrix Fillmore 3138 Fillmore st sf 9pm-2am. 21 and over.

MANIC MONDAYS where for nearly two years now the movers and shakers of San Francisco's vibrant night life have been moving and shakin'. This week featuring resident DJs Mei-lwun and Don Lynch on the decks for your dancing pleasure. Drinky special on Fernet and Corralejos, never a cover, dress to express!
A while back i started thinking on the evolution of dj software and the proliferation of looping and how its changed the way a lot of dance music is being arranged. Songs and to a greater degree 'edits' of songs have been getting shorter and shorter while djs have been using the technology in increasingly more varied ways to change the way they play a given track.
Here's a 'little' something flavored by Snoop Doog, Hova and Space Dust. Loops and Cue point for SERATO have already been placed in the track which i guarantee will be the quickest music download you ever made. I'm interested to hear what you are able to 'make of it'.
The original of this track annoys the shit out of me. I think its the showtuneish quality of the chorus melody. I did this house tempo refix that only uses the prechorus when it came out but I kept sitting on this one thinking i was going to make it more big floor. i have finally decided that it is what it is. hope you like it.
Believe it Ninjas!! Mondays that feel like Saturdays. MANIC has been rolling strong for almost two years now if you haven't checked it out you are sleeping on one of the best events SF has to offer.
For Jan 11th its Dj Guzie of the Rock-it Scientists and MANIC MONDAYS resident and host DJ Mei-Lwun working the room like the room should be worked. Get down early and take advantage of our Fernet and Corralejos specials.
